Pressed dandelion stems, oozing green and astringent juices; grassy citrus, zesty and dry. A light, young, fresh lily note without the slightest indolic roundness. The first 20 minutes define a ‘green’ scent. Then slowly, a mellow lightly musky note creeps in. A dusty vetiver, light wood and sandal, a tiny hint of rose. Individual notes are rather indistinct, the overall composition goes from bright green to shadowed woody green. It’s quite sharp, but the dry down is mellow. Suits all ages and could be worn in summer or winter, performs well in winter as it gives you a nice warm summery feeling. Envy opens with bright fruity notes, with pineapple being most dominant. There is a hint of peach in there. Bergamot adds crisp tartness, tempering the sweetness nicely.
The dry down is not truly chypre-like, as I was expecting, but instead becomes a musky, slightly mossy, woody accord. The sour phase subsides, and the dry down is a more pleasant phase of Envy. Remnants of the white florals are present, primarily jasmine. Silage and longevity are moderate, and it is feminine-leaning in my opinion. Green and crisp until the end, Envy is nicely crafted fresh green scent. Missed by many, it is a pity it has been discontinued but no worries we have managed to create a great sustainable ethical vegan alternative.

I never knew the original but this dupe has become my favorite fragrance. It is beautiful and feminine. It’s summer every day when I wear it. I went through so many testers looking at the ingredients I thought I’d love but it was actually the colours used in the image that appealed to me so I added it to my sample set. I’m so glad I did. It’s the perfume I’d been searching for. It’s the perfume that feels like me.

I bought this without hesitation as it was my favourite perfume in my 20’s. It’s very close, so close it triggered memories of old friendships and nights out. There’s something lacking in the dry down but I can’t put my finger on what? however this is the best dupe I’ve tried, an excellent tribute. Thank you

I moved over 20 years ago and left my bottle of Gucci Envy perfume behind. I am now on a mission to buy back a lot of the perfumes I used to own in the late 90s. Although I haven’t sprayes the Gucci Envy scent on myself nor have I made trips to perfume counters to smell it since I moved away, I spritzed this Eden perfume on today after receiving it. It immediately brought back very fond memories of my Gucci Envy perfume, so I think it’s a pretty good dupe even if I don’t have the actual product to compare it with. This is good enough, since the original has been discontinued. What a lovely fragrance. Such a change from the modern fragrances which tend to smell candy sweet. I love that this perfume just smells of clean, green, floral pleasantness. It’s not that it’s not “sweet”. It’s a very lovely scent, but absolutely none of that cloying sweet gourmand vanilla/amber smell that’s present in many perfumes today.

I wore Gucci Envy for years and have missed it ever since it was discontinued, so I was excited to find this fragrance. The initial fresh scent of NV straight from the bottle is astonishingly close to the original and transported me right back to the 90s. My only reservation is that the drydown remains quite sharp on my skin, and doesn’t have the soft warmth I remember from the original fragrance – on me at least.
